  1. John Coulthart says:

    Chorlton-cum-Hardy, Manchester, apparently.

The Blues and Gospel Train (ITV, tx.19/8/1964), performed on a suburban station in Manchester by Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Muddy Waters, Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee, and Otis Spann.

  2. poacher says:

Ah, nice. Cheers John. Next question would have to be be *why*?! I love the shot of the suited men in the audience.

  3. John Coulthart says:

This was Granada TV so the station was presumably a cheap, novelty alternative to using the studio.

  4. dragon chaser says:

it's an awesome clip - love it

  5. Annie says:

Athol Road station, Whalley Range, Manchester (now a cycle path!)

  6. poacher says:

Cheers for that Annie - what a bonkers place for a gig... I take it you're local to the area?
